Accredited and Bespoke training can be accommodated and training can be tailored to meet the needs of the setting. As a training provider we reference the Speech, Language and Communication Framework (SLCF) (https://www.slcframework.org.uk) to ensure that our learning outcomes and training support the defined competencies. The SLCF is a detailed framework of the skills and knowledge in speech, language and communication which are important for everyone who works with children and young people.

Elklan writes and delivers accredited courses for education and other staff working with those with speech, language and communication needs and for parents, and trains a network of licenced tutors to deliver Elklan courses locally.

Derbyshire Language Scheme

Derbyshire Language Scheme – Certificate Course

The Derbyshire Language Scheme is an intervention programme which targets early language skills. It is highly structured, with carefully graded objectives starting from single words and moving to long complex sentences.

It includes assessment materials, allowing the user to establish the current levels of skill. The assessment links directly with teaching activities.

In the United Kingdom, Eire and Australia there are official tutors who organise training workshops to facilitate its implementation.

Learning Language and Loving It™

The Hanen Program® for Early Childhood Educators – Certificate Course “Learning Language and Loving It” is an in-service training programme that provides you with practical, interactive strategies for building the social, language and early literacy skills of preschool children. This is an inclusive programme as it addresses prevention, intervention and enrichment.

You will learn how to ensure that every child in the classroom receives the support he needs – including those with language delays and those who are second-language learners.

Teacher Talk™ Training Series – Certificate Course

“Teacher Talk” is a flexible series of short training sessions designed as an introduction for early year’s practitioners to learn interactive strategies for building the social, language and early literacy skills of preschool children. While Teacher Talk training is not as intensive as Learning Language and Loving It, it does cover the key principles and strategies of that programme.
